These two diners had their lunch ruined after a pair of rats dropped down from the ceiling and fell on one’s head, then scurried all over the table.
CCTV footage shows two men peacefully enjoying lunch at a hot pot restaurant located in a shopping centre in Yiwu, in China’s eastern Zhejiang Province, on the afternoon of 8th December.
Suddenly, two giant rats fell from above and landed right on the head of the one sitting on the right.
Horrified, he immediately jumped up and shook them off, escaping to the other side of their booth to get away from them.
His panicked pal also got up from his seat in an attempt to avoid the pesky rodents that began scurrying all over the table and their seats before running off.
Meanwhile, two restaurant employees stood by watching in confusion.
According to reports, the man whose head the rats fell on suffered scratches on his scalp.
One of them later told local media: “The merchant and the mall shifted responsibility, were not accountable, and asked us to go for the examination ourselves.”
The restaurant claimed it was in contact with the customers to resolve the situation.
Staff said: “We will continue to post follow-ups.”
When asked if the man was indeed scratched on the head, staff reportedly did not provide a direct response.
Local authorities said the incident is under investigation.
