This is the horrific moment an SUV runs over a pet dog while its owner is distracted by his phone.
The incident took place on a street in Shiv Shakti Gali of Niti Khand 1, in the Indirapuram neighbourhood, in the state of Ghaziabad, in India at around 7 am on 11th November, as captured by the CCTV footage.
The unnamed pet owner can be seen walking to the side of the road to avoid the oncoming SUV but appears to forget all about his dog.
The dog, walking in the middle of the road is then run over by the large car.
It was only then that the pet owner, who had been holding the dog with a lead but was distracted by his phone, noticed his dog had been run over.
The pet could not stand upright again and was struggling in pain as the clip ended.
The pet reportedly died on the spot.
There is no information on whether the SUV driver saw the pug before running over it.
The pet owner reported the incident to the Indirapuram police station.
The police are investigating the incident with CCTV footage captured in the neighbourhood.
No arrests had been made at the time of writing.
