This is the dramatic moment a man takes a brand new car out for a test drive and crashes into another vehicle in the street seconds later.

The man, who was not named, was testing out a grey Wenjie M5 car outside a salon in Dongguan, in China’s southern Guangdong Province, on 13th November.

Wenjie is an all-electric crossover SUV produced under the AITO brand in collaboration with Huawei since 2022.

Dash-cam footage shows the moment the driver suddenly accelerated while reversing out of a driveway but instead slammed into the front of another vehicle on the street.

The impact was so powerful that it pushed the other vehicle to the side, causing the first one to end up mounting on top of it.

A second piece of footage shows the grey car standing almost upright against the road, with its rear end on top of the white car it crashed into and blocking the driver’s side door entirely.

A woman could be seen standing beside the grey car and speaking to its driver, who remained inside.

On the same day, the manufacturer, AITO, said they were aware of the incident and that there were no injuries.

They claimed that there were no faults with the vehicle itself and the accident was caused by the trial driver’s error.

They added: “We have communicated with and comforted the user promptly.

“After preliminary verification, in this accident, no one was injured. The cause of the accident was the trial driver’s error.

“The vehicle functions normally, and we are actively handling the follow-up matters.”
