This shocking footage shows a petrol station worker narrowly dodging a massive blaze that suddenly erupts in a vehicle’s engine while refuelling.

Surveillance cameras captured the moment a white sedan is parked with an open bonnet by a gas pump in Chengdu, in south-western China’s Sichuan Province at around 6:00am on 22nd August.

An employee can be seen connecting the car to the pump and then standing by waiting for the tank to fill up.

Suddenly, the worker jumps up apparently noticing the pipe disconnect and rushes to correct it.

But as the worker comes close to the open engine, a fire suddenly erupts and engulfs the front part of the vehicle.

Luckily, the attendant manages to run away just in time and escapes the sudden blaze.

Two nearby vehicles quickly drive away to avoid the flames as the footage cuts.
