This is the moment a huge SingTel totals from the top of a building in China during gale force winds.

The incident happened during a sudden and severe thunderstorm that swept through Baotai City in the Chinese province of Shaanxi, leaving behind a trail of damage and destruction, on 26th June.

Videos captured during the storm depict the immense power of the storm as the telecommunication tower was toppled and crashed to the ground.

It was reportedly used for telephone and Internet as well as radio with its destruction causing outages in the immediate area.

The damage to locals was compounded by severe house calls that further increase the damage caused by the strong winds.

The torrential rain also cause localised flooding causing significant damage with the aftermath living the residents of Baotai City grappling with significant economic losses.

Countless homes and crops were damaged or destroyed, and the local government and various community organizations have been involved in the cleanup operation and in providing relief.

Efforts are currently underway to quantify the extent of the losses and develop strategies for recovery.
