This is the chilling moment a biker is almost hanged to death by a noose-like cable dangling over a road in China.
Shocking CCTV footage shows the biker – named as Chen Fayang – weaving through traffic in Yibin, Sichuan province, southern China.
But he does not see a length of cable, with a head-sized loop at the end, hanging down from above the road on 21st June.
Moments later the loop has slipped over Chen’s helmet and onto his throat, pulling him off the bike as it throttles him.
As he sprawls on the tarmac horrified passers-by struggle to free him from the makeshift noose.
The driver of a car behind Chen – which stopped just in time to avoid hitting him – told local media: “When we got out of the car to check, the rider was already suffocating.
“Everyone rushed to rescue and call the police.”
Chen – reported local media – survived the strangling but is being treated in hospital for soft tissue damage to his neck.
He said: ” Now I need someone to help me get out of bed, and I feel severe abdominal pain. “
Local media reported that the owner of the cable is being sought by police.
