An 11-year-old boy has been rescued after accidentally falling off the window of his room and ending up on the 13th-floor lintel.

Phone footage shared on social media shows the young child sitting helplessly on top of the window structure covered with a red blanket and waiting for firefighters to arrive on 1st December.

The boy reportedly got trapped on top of the frame, after he suddenly fell from the window while his parents were not in the apartment. Located in the city of Kaili, in China’s south-eastern Guizhou Province.

Local media revealed that firefighters rushed to the scene after the incident was reported.

In the video, they can be seen securing the child with a rope before pulling him up the window and into the room. After briefly checking whether he is physically okay.

A second video shows a man, reportedly the boy’s father, hugging him tightly as the fireman who secured the child with the rope climbs up the window following the successful rescue operation.

The incident did not go unnoticed, as users on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok. Had a lot to say on the matter.

Douyin user ‘Diana in the Jungle’ said: “Families with children should install security windows.”

User ‘Bing’s Mother’ commented: “I wish you peace and health and all the best.”

And ‘Investigate everywhere’ added: “Thank you for your hard work, firefighters!”
