This is the moment an embarrassed-looking pet pooch gives people its best hangdog expression after being left high and dry dangling from an elevator door.
Astonished residents at an apartment block in Huainan City, Anhui Province, China, discovered the hung-up pup on the building’s ground floor.
As the unidentified man filming the doggy drama – later shared on China’s version of TikTok, Douyin – cannot help laughing, the embarrassed dog looks away as if to hide its face.
Its owner had stepped into the lift and pushed a floor button but his dog was still on the outside on its lead when the doors closed.
Then as the lift went up the dog was pulled to the top of the door before a safety mechanism kicked in and stopped the motor leaving the pup hanging.
Luckily it was wearing a chest harness so it did not choke to death while its owner waited for engineers to let them out.
