This is the bizarre moment a boy walks into a lift in China tied around his waist to a goat, and then is almost decapitated when the goat stands outside as the doors close – and the lift starts to move.

The heart-stopping incident was captured on a surveillance camera in Chengdu, in the southwestern Chinese province of Sichuan, on 6th June.

An old man and the young boy are initially seen entering the elevator with the boy pulling the goat behind him on a rope tied around his waist.

It is unclear exactly what they are planning to do with the goat, but unfortunately, as they enter the elevator, the doors shut behind them, and the goat was left stranded outside of the elevator with the boy inside.

More seriously, as the little boy and the man try to work out how to open the doors to get the goat back inside, the elevator suddenly starts to move.

Seconds later, the boy was suddenly lifted into the air by the rope that was tied around his waist and still attached to the goat.

Thankfully, the boy’s father managed to get him free of the rope just as the elevator stops, and a more serious injury was prevented.

The video, taken from inside the lift, was then posted on Douyin, which is the Chinese version of TikTok.

User ‘Chu University’ commented: “Why didn’t you let go of the rope in the first place?”

While ‘Chinese legend’ commented: “The problem is that the elevator cannot stop in an emergency.”

And ‘Xiao Zhou’ commented: “I wonder what happened to the sheep?”
