This is the comical moment a lifeguard accidentally joins a man on a waterslide ride instead of his girlfriend.

The idea was to have a romantic ride down the lengthy slide, which is the longest in the world according to Guinness World Records, measuring 3,645 feet long.

But instead, the lifeguard helping set up the inflatable device for the man and his girlfriend is suddenly pulled down the slide with the man.

The incident occurred at the ESCAPE Water Park on the island of the state of Penang, in Malaysia.

The footage, originally shared on TikTok, has quickly gone viral, amassing nearly five million views since it was shared on 30th October.

In the footage, the young man, identified only as Zach, can be seen on the inflatable device getting ready for the ride.

His girlfriend can be seen standing behind him, waiting to get on, as the lifeguard gets the ride ready for them.

However, the lifeguard lost his footing and unexpectedly joined Zach in the tube.

Zach then looks back and realises that the person behind him is not his girlfriend.

He asks: “Where is my baby?”

His girlfriend, who was left behind, was also clearly surprised about the turn of events.

The lifeguard indicates that she was left behind at the top of the ride.

Zach appears amused by this and laughs before shaking hands with the lifeguard and introducing himself as they ride down the long waterslide together. Zach also asks the lifeguard if it is his first day on the job.

The ESCAPE theme park’s Waterslide in Penang holds the title of the world’s longest water slide, boasting an impressive height of 230 feet (70 metres) and a staggering length of 3,645 feet (1,111 metres).

This attraction officially opened on 6th September 2019.
