This is the harrowing moment a bus driver suffers a heart attack and loses control of the bus he was driving as it smashes into several vehicles.
One person reportedly died as a result of the accident.
The incident took place on a road in Vishram Chowk in the Rohini neighbourhood in India’s capital city, New Delhi, at around 2:45 pm on Saturday, 4th November.
The unnamed driver, driving a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) electric bus, can be seen in the driving position, with his upper body falling sideways onto the iron bar protecting the driver’s corner.
His body becomes stiff, as evident from the folded hands in the footage.
A man, possibly the bus driver’s assistant, then came to press the vehicle’s controls, which had already crashed into a white car and an e-rickshaw.
He further pressed the door control button to open the door for assistance in rescuing the driver after the vehicle came to a stop.
An onlooker rushes in as they attempt to extract the unresponsive driver.
The two men then step down as the bus assistant returns with a bottle of water to pour on the driver in an attempt to resuscitate him.
Another piece of footage shows the moment the electric vehicle collided with vehicles and bikes, likely for sale, parked in front of some shops.
People rush to lift the e-rickshaw to rescue passengers as onlookers watch in confusion.
Reportedly, someone died, although it is currently unclear who.
The police arrived at the accident scene and are investigating.
The driver and other injured victims were taken to a nearby hospital.
