A baby girl born with four arms and four legs as well as two working hearts prompted a large crowd to gather, claiming it was a miracle before it was then announced that the child had died.
The birth of the girl took place at the Sanjivani Nursing Home in Shyamchak, in Chhapra, in the Saran district of Bihar, in India on Tuesday. It was reported that the shape of the baby’s head was also unusual.
When news of the birth was revealed, a large crowd gathered outside, claiming it was a divine incarnation but it later dispersed when it was announced that tragically the baby girl had died within half an hour of being born.
The mother has been named as Prasuta Priya Devi and the hospital’s director, Dr Anil Kumar, confirmed that the incident happened.
He added that as well as the extra limbs, the baby girl also had four ears and two spinal cords.
Incredibly, the medics found that she also had two working hearts.
It was the first baby for the distressed mother who had been worried something was wrong when the baby did not arrive on time. The mother is recovering after a cesarean birth.
