Despite a ban on eating on this underground line in China it didn’t deter this older man from tucking into a three-course meal.

The video footage was shot on the Suzhou subway system in China’s Jiangsu province, which has a ban on antisocial activities including smoking and eating or drinking.

In the first video, the man has four food bowls in front of him and then takes chopsticks in order to eat the contents, including one which contains a bowl of rice and another that seems to be a type of bean soup.

In a second video, it appears that he does not like the greens in the soup and is seen expertly picking them out and putting them on one of the lids.

He seemed unconcerned about the fact that the three-course meal plus the bowl of rice will probably slide around when the subway train accelerates or decelerate at stations.

The footage was shared on Douyin by the filmer identified as Mr Zhu where it went viral and clocked up millions of views.

One commentator noted: “He made the subway train into his own personal restaurant.”

Most people are critical of the man ignoring the ban, although some people suggested this should be more understanding as maybe he had a busy lifestyle or another reason for doing something that would normally be classed as antisocial.

The video was shot on a day that doors were open to allow people to write for free on Metro Line 11 with this video was reportedly shot.

A spokesman for Rosaline said that normally there are inspectors, but as travellers were free, they had been dispensed within the day the video was shot, which was 18th June.

The spokesman said that there was also a hotline where antisocial incidents could be reported and dealt with quickly.
