This is the shocking moment a 16-year-old girl is stabbed repeatedly to death as crowds of people walk past and apparently do nothing to interfere.
The shocking incident involved a man identified only by his first name Sahil, aged 20, and a girl only named as Shakshi, whose body was found lying in the street following the attack in New Delhi, in India.
The two, who had apparently been involved in a relationship, reportedly had a row after which she was apparently stopped as she walked to the birthday party in the Shahbad area on Sunday, 28th May.
The shocking video shows people walking past doing nothing to intervene as he stabs her again and again.
He then stamps on her head and finally picks up a concrete block which he dropped repeatedly on top of her lifeless body.
He then went on the run but was caught after a manhunt when the girl’s father filed a complaint.
Police said that they got the call only 35 minutes after the murder.
Swati Maliwal, Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, also demanded the police take the strongest action over the murder, saying: “A minor innocent girl was stabbed and then crushed with a stone in Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy area. All boundaries have been crossed in this case. I have never seen anything more horrifying than this in my career of so many years.”
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal added that the criminals in Delhi apparently no longer had any fear of the police, and more needed to be done to protect the innocent.
An autopsy confirmed that the young woman had been stabbed 16 times, and her skull had been crushed after having a concrete block dropped on it.
