This is the moment an elderly man repeatedly kicked the seat of the person in front on a high-speed train in China.

A video posted by a netizen in Shaanxi province, China, showed the unusual encounter on a high-speed train.

The elderly gentleman took offence to a young man adjusting his seat to make it go further backwards, and decided to kick it to stop it invading his space.

The video captured on a high-speed train shows the person in front attempting to adjust the seat backwards.

However, he was suddenly kicked by the elderly man sitting behind him, causing his seat to snap back to its original position.

Frustrated, the young man turned to the elderly gentleman, demanding an explanation for his actions.

He argued: “What did I do wrong? Did I accidentally bump into you? Aren’t you also lying down in your seat? Why don’t you sit up?”

The elderly man, unapologetic, responded with a question of his own, “Who made the rules?” He then made it clear that he didn’t want the passenger to recline the seat.

This exchange led to a series of attempts by the young man to adjust his seat back once again, each time resulting in the same outcome – a forceful kick from the elderly man.

The woman next to the old man tried to stop him but she failed, The dispute only stopped when the train staff intervened.

According to local news media, China Railway Authorities Response acknowledged that incidents like these should not occur in public spaces, including trains.

They highlighted that upright seats can become uncomfortable after prolonged periods of sitting.

While there are no rigid rules governing such situations, open communication remains the key to resolving conflicts.

They also emphasized that, if necessary, train staff would be available to assist in facilitating dialogue between passengers.
