This is the hilarious moment an overly curious cat gets carried by a flight attendant back to its owner after it ran away mid-flight.

The sneaky feline was filmed by an amused passenger as a crew member chased it down the aisle of a Hainan Airlines plane.

Phone footage shows a male flight attendant finally catching up with the curious tabby and lifting it by its legs to return it to its owner.

As they walk between the seats, the puss is seen curiously glancing left and right at the baffled passengers.

One even extends their arm to rub its belly as it goes by.

The video went viral on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, with nearly three million views and more than 800,000 shares.

The woman who filmed the video said that cats are allowed on airplanes, and Hainan Airlines’ pets can be accommodated in the cabin with an advance reservation at a cost of CNY 1,399 (GBP 152) per pet.

She said: “After boarding the plane, the cat was a bit nervous.

“After the owner let it go, it ran a distance before being immediately picked up.”

The unnamed woman added that the cat behaved well throughout the journey and disembarked with the owner during the layover.

The kitty’s owner later responded in a comment under the posted video, saying: “Lele has arrived home safely.

“Thank you for your tolerance and kind comments for my fur baby Lele.

“I hope Lele can bring happiness to everyone.”
