These brave firefighters were filmed as they squeezed into a 10-inch gap to rescue a 90-year-old woman who accidentally slipped and fell between two tall house walls.

Nail-biting footage shows two uniformed professionals carefully lowering themselves into the gap in Puyang, in China’s central Henan Province, on the morning of 18th November.

Three others climbed to the rooftop of a house beside the narrow crevice and secured a safety rope that held their two colleagues in place.

The two slowly inched towards the trapped woman, who appeared to be frozen in place from fear.

But the skilled firefighters managed to place another rope around her and pulled her out in just 15 minutes.

One of them then carried her out on his back and gently laid her down on a pile of blankets so medics could examine her.

Through the combined teamwork of firefighters inside and outside the alley, the trapped woman was gradually rescued and handed over to on-site medical personnel.

A few other older women also came out and lent them a helping hand.

After the examination, paramedics confirmed that she was unharmed.

It is currently unclear how she got stuck in the tight space between two walls in the first place.
