This is the shocking moment a woman is battered to the ground when a car park barrier closes on her head as she walks underneath.
The incident in which her partner then vandalised the offending device was captured by CCTV cameras at the entrance of a car park in Dongguan, in China’s southern Guangdong Province, on 3rd December.
In the video, the two are seen walking hand in hand past the gate just as a black vehicle exits the parking lot.
Seemingly unaware that the raised gate was about to come back down, they walked right under it and it struck the woman on the head.

The man first made sure she got out okay, then turned around and began angrily kicking the metal object before forcefully ripping it off and throwing it aside.
After he destroyed the metal arm, he grabbed the woman’s hand and the two walked off as if nothing happened.
However, it was long before law enforcement caught up with him. At that point, he had apparently calmed down and reportedly admitted his mistake.

He compensated for the damage, at an amount initially set to CNY 500 (GBP 55), but downgraded to just CNY 300 (GBP 33) on account of his sincere apology.
The woman had reportedly suffered a minor injury to her head, but was otherwise fine.
