This is the moment when a vehicle repair worker narrowly escaped a dangerous incident when a lorry tire he had just inflated exploded and flew several meters up into the air.

This incident occurred in a repair shop in Shangqiu City, in the Chinese province of Henan, on Friday, June 16, 2023.

Fortunately, the man, identified as Mi Gao, was able to avoid being hit by the flying tire and was not injured in the incident.

The explosion was captured on surveillance footage, which recorded the tire flying up and landing several meters away from the repair shop.

The video was posted on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok where online commentators noted that the warm weather, which was up to 30 degrees C in the last few days meant that tyres often need to be deflated to stop this happening.

And ‘Chen Ye’ commented: “Be careful brother, stay safe.”
