This is the hilarious moment a goat mistakes its own reflection against a car’s door for an opponent and repeatedly rams it with its horns, leaving behind giant scratch markings.
The confused animal was filmed by an unnamed cameraperson who seemingly witnessed the final moments of its one-sided duel at the side of a street in Beijing, China’s capital on 18th July.
In the video – shared later on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok – the white goat, wearing a collar round its neck can be seen engaging in the baffling standoff thinking it has met a rival.
Seeing its reflection on the polished car doors, it keeps ramming the vehicle apparently convinced another animal is challenging it and refusing to leave.
It sticks its horn back and forth at the black car doors, leaving behind giant scratches as it goes.
Ultimately, it was the car owner who mostly lost.
The clip of the persistent goat’s ‘face-off’ racked up almost 45,000 views on Douyin and some 19,000 comments, with many users questioning how the owner would explain the damage to the insurance company.
One user titled ‘little lucky’ left a comment saying: “Who pays? Should the goat pay or be accompanied by its owner?”
Another user titled ‘ ice rain’ wrote: ” This video goes to show you that cars should not be polished too shiny, otherwise there will be trouble.”
And user ‘Perseverance’ joked saying: “Stewed or baked, let’s decide.”
