A trike rider was nearly run over by a moving train as he tried to force his way through a railroad crossing but was pushed back by the second barrier.

Shocking CCTV footage captured the incident which reportedly occurred in the city of Tai’an, in China’s south-eastern Shandong Province, shortly before 10am on 16th May.

In the video, a tricycle rider could be seen rushing towards a railroad crossing, travelling past a line of vehicles waiting behind the lowered barriers for the train to pass.

But he was seemingly in such a hurry that he abandoned the rules and warning and continued ahead.

A passenger who sat in the back of the trike was so scared that he jumped out and onto the road.

Ignoring this, the rider kept moving and forced his way through the first barrier, almost breaking it in half.

However, when he tried to push through the second barrier, it struck his neck and held him back.

A panicked watchman immediately signalled the train driver with a red flag to slow down, alerting him to the danger.

After nearly choking on the barrier, the rider then got off the tricycle and stood as far from the tracks as he could while the train sped past him.
