This is the hilarious moment a young man getting hyped up by a large crowd attempts a daring dive from a 25-foot tall bridge but ends up a laughing stock as he loses his wig on the way down.
Phone footage captured by Ms Liu shows the lad standing on the edge of the Shizilin Bridge, a popular diving spot located in Tianjin, one of the largest cities in China, on 6th September.
The man, dressed in grey shorts and a white T-shirt paired with white sneakers, was captured as he braced himself to jump into the Haihe River while a large crowd cheered him on.
But as he musters his courage and takes the leap, his wig comes off mid-air, causing the audience to erupt in laughter.
In the video, which was later shared on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, he is then seen resurfacing with a half-bald head as the hairpiece floats away with the river.
Ms Liu said that the crowd erupted into laughter when the young man jumped in and lost his hair.
The footage attracted widespread attention, with many netizens poking fun at the situation.
One user titled ‘fan’ said in a comment: “Headset returned to factory, negative review”
Another user titled ‘Xu’ wrote: “What a small parachute!”
And user ‘2948867764701’ commented: “His wig could not catch up.”
