This is the speeded-up moment a skilled worker is filmed painting a ship’s serial numbers in just one go using a 20-foot-long pole to paint the calligraphy on its side without scaffolding.

The unnamed worker impressed countless online users after sharing the video of his craftsmanship put to use while working at Dongtou Shipyard in Wenzhou, a port city in eastern China’s Zhejiang Province.

The clip – posted on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok – shows the shipyard worker marking the giant fishing vessel’s numbers with a brush as easily and smoothly as if he were writing with pen and paper.

Rather than relying on ladders or any type of scaffolding, he instead did all the work with the help of a 20-foot-long pole attached to the end of the brush and with him standing firmly on the ground.

Using the long pole, he managed to mark the ship’s nearly 30-ft-high hull in just one quick go, all the while keeping the writing neat and standardised.
