A shocked guest at a posh hotel has complained about finding shampoo containing sperm in his room.
The hotel guest reportedly noticed something unusual when he opened the bottle of shampoo and found it had a very strong, fishy smell.
When he then held it up to the light, he allegedly found it contained a substance which he complained to hotel staff was human sperm.
Staff at the Yatuo Hotel in the Lu Valley area of Changsha, in Hunan province, said that they did not believe the unidentified substance was what the man claimed, but confirmed that it had been sent to a laboratory for independent analysis.
However, the guest also shared a picture of the bottle containing the shampoo that also appears to have a white and lumpy substance inside.
He also said that it had a disgustingly strong fishy smell when the cap was open.
The official Weibo account of Da Xiang News reported that a staff member from the Market Supervision Administration in the Yue Lu district of Changsha confirmed that they had received a complaint.
The incident has sparked heated debate online and concerns about hygiene standards at the hotel.
Although they declined to make an official comment, a receptionist at the Yatuo Hotel in Changsha’s Lu Valley area told local media that the issue was in hand.
Another member of the hotel team further said that the samples have been sent for further testing to confirm exactly what the substance was.
