A sculpture of a boy and girl that is meant to represent the innocence of childhood where the girl has pulled open the boy’s pants has been removed after it sparked controversy.

Photos spread on Chinese social media platforms for the sculpture of male and female child dolls, with the female doll pulling open the pants of the male doll.
The sculpture is located in the Jingniang Lake Scenic Area in Wu’an City, Hebei Province.
The video sparked controversy, with most netizens believing that the sculpture was inappropriate.
Some comments in the online forum suggested that since children like to imitate what they see, placing such sculptures in public places may lead to inappropriate behaviour.

A staff member at Jingniang Lake Scenic Area responded that the doll sculpture had been there for some time and that it represented innocent and childlike themes for children to play with.
However, they acknowledged that they had received recent complaints from tourists and had begun to address the issue with their leadership.
In response to the complaints, officials from the Wu’an City Cultural and Tourism Bureau also contacted the scenic area and ordered the removal of the child doll sculpture.
According to local media, the staff at the Jingniang Lake Scenic Area have responded that the sculpture has been removed.
