The aircraft lost contact just minutes after taking off from the mountainous Solukhumbu district in Nepal on 11th July.

The bodies of Ismael Sifuentes, Luz Gonzalez and their three adult children, Abril, Maria Jose and Fernando – all said to be in their 20s – were recovered near the town of Lukla.

The body of their Nepalese guide and pilot Chet Gurung was also recovered at the crash site north of Kathmandu.

In one of the new photos, the family gather together in a huddle wrapped up against a snowy landscape that seems to be a ski resort.

In a second photo, they seem to be in what could be an ancient doorway or temple with a mountain range behind them.

It is currently unclear what caused the horror crash but the Nepalese police have indicated that weather conditions were poor.

The family – from Nuevo Leon – reportedly wanted to see Everest from the air.

But their chopper ride to the 8,848-metre (29,028-foot) peak – the highest point on Earth – crashed at 3,500 metres (11,500 feet).

Nepal’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAAN) says contact with the Manang Air flight was lost just eight minutes after takeoff.

Pratap Babu Tiwari – manager of the Tribhuvan international airport – said: “The six bodies have been recovered and brought to Kathmandu.”

Two search and rescue helicopters were sent to the crash site but were unable to land due to poor weather.

Tiwari said: “The teams on the ground brought the bodies to the helicopters which were able to land close by.”

Lhakpa Sherpa – who took part in the search – said the scene was “very scary.”

He said the helicopter had apparently hit a tree before smashing into the ground.

The Mexican Embassy is reportedly coordinating the repatriation of the victims’ bodies to Mexico.

The traditional tourist and mountaineering season around Everest ended in May with the start of the rainy season.

Tourist flights to the mountains are less common this time of year as visibility is poor and weather conditions become unpredictable.

An investigation into what caused the crash is ongoing.
