The footage was shot in the city of Loudi located in China’s central Hunan province on 6th July.
It starts off with a peaceful scene of people walking slowly past street sellers as a motorcycle together with a child and two adults slowly pulls into view on the walkway.
But seconds later, a massive masonry, tiles and other debris crashes down to the street creating a huge dust cloud.
As it clears, there is a scene of devastation with people lying on the ground scrambling to get away in case any more debris falls from the building, and with the small stands selling produce destroyed.
Local media said that the debris fell from the 20th floor and included bricks and tiles and the situation could have been far more serious.
In the end, two people were hospitalised although their condition is reportedly not serious.
The authorities are investigating the reason for the incident, according to local media.
