This is an incredible moment quick-thinking neighbours grab a tarpaulin and use it to catch a three-year-old girl clinging to the side of a second-floor balcony.
The dramatic footage shows that as soon as the six people managed to extend the tarpaulin the child came plunging down and was safely caught during the incident in Yangjiang, a prefecture-level city in south-eastern China’s Guangdong Province, on 22nd May.
The child had been left alone in the cabin over the side of the balcony and was then left hanging in midair when she was spotted by an elderly woman.
She started waving her arms and shouting raising the alert with another neighbour, who grabbed a tarpaulin from home which was then stretched out by other neighbours just in time to catch the falling child.
The child was returned to her family unharmed and although they were not penalised for leaving the girl alone, the local community management company said it urged people to take more care with young children.
