These stomach-churning images allegedly show how a dead rat was found in the curry at a medical college canteen.
It is not clear when the revolting footage was filmed. However, it was shared on social media on 23rd June.
According to reports, the clip was filmed at the RAMA Medical College & Hospital in Hapur in Uttar Pradesh state, India, and allegedly shows a rat soaked in shahi paneer.
At the time of reporting, the medical college had not commented on the allegations.
Journalist Mohd Yusuf, who posted the video, wrote: “It is being reported that the kitchen of Rama Medical College in Hapur has a viral video.
“It is being said that a rat was cooked in the vegetables, and no action has been taken so far.
“The government administration should investigate and take appropriate action.”
One Twitter user replied: “It was in the paneer, but I didn’t eat it. However, the rest of the staff had already eaten a lot.”
According to local media, after Hapur District Magistrate Prerna Sharma asked the Deputy Food Commissioner to investigate the allegations, a team from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India went to the medical college to investigate.
The team reportedly collected food samples, which it sent to a laboratory in Lucknow for analysis.
After the results are published, action may be taken, according to local media.
