When groom Xie Peng heard his bride-to-be had her heart set on a KFC wedding, he was determined to make sure she heard those six little words: “With this wing I thee wed”.

So when Xie, 40, and 32-year-old bride Heather Wong tied the knot in Singapore they made sure they ticked all the boxes on their bucket list.

First, as seen in a video of their big day, the happy couple and their guests feasted on trays of fried chicken served up with tubs of whipped potato.

Big-hearted KFC staff laid on 160 pieces of Original Recipe and Hot and Crispy chicken plus props used in their restaurant promotions.

Even Heather’s bouquet was made of fried chicken blooms and wrapped in KFC paper.

And around the reception party pink roses were on display with KFC soda cups for vases.

A second video shows delighted Heather sitting in her wheelchair throwing her bouquet to a pal in front of a huge cut-out KFC poster with a Zinger Burger sofa beside them.

Heather, reports local media told a friend when she was in college that one day she would have a KFC-themed wedding.

And she said her big day was the “KFC-themed wedding of my dreams”.

Heather told local media that she eats KFC food at least once a week and sometimes more when there are special offers.

Heather and Xie got engaged in August, and contacted KFC to do the catering.

She explained: “I wanted the wedding to be special.”

The fast-food chain told the pair they would sponsor half of the food, a KFC-themed photo booth backdrop and a Zinger burger sofa.

Heather said: “Awesome, oh my god. It was so cool! Nowhere else have you ever seen a wedding with huge trays of fried chicken.”

She told local media that her 60 guests were amazed by the surprise wedding theme.
