The video shows the moment a man shovelling snow rescues his little daughter when a massive snowslide falls from their family home.

In the CCTV recording, the father can be seen shoveling snow in front of the family home in the city of Luoyang, in China’s central Henan Province, as the toddler and his wife holding a newborn stand on the side and watch on the morning of 11th December.

But just seconds later a huge pile of heavy snow fell from the roof, and ended up trapping the child at knee-length as the worried dad rushed to her rescue.

The mum meanwhile, moved from where she was standing to protect the baby.

The incident was reportedly caused after the snow slid down the solar panels’ slippery glass. Media revealed that nobody was injured during the event.

The video prompted an avalanche of reactions from users on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, with most of them criticising the mother for not reaching for the toddler instead of the father.

Douyin user ‘Me and my motherland’ said: “This mom was running so fast, she didn’t even see clearly.”

User ‘a small peach’ said: “The mother protects the younger one, and the father keeps moving towards the older one. That’s right.

“Why are people still talking rubbish? Would it have been okay if all three of them were trapped?”

And ‘Not Nian Ainao’ added: “I’m really speechless about some people’s views. If someone is holding a baby in their arms, should they just throw it and run away?”
