This is the horrifying moment a couple celebrating their anniversary narrowly avoid getting killed when the rope on an amusement ride snaps and flings them high up in the air.
The pair were then left hanging sideways as the broken rope triggered a safety system which automatically shut down the power of the “Rocket Bungee Jumping” ride in Dalian, in north-east China’s Liaoning Province.
Shocked witnesses captured the moment the lovers get launched dozens of feet above the tall tower when the right-side rope snaps in half at about 6:50 pm on 4th August.
Luckily, the other safety line remains intact as the pair would have otherwise been flung to their death.
Emergency crews then rushed over to help the riders who remained trapped in their seats and hanging to the side.

The two later told local media they wanted to add a hint of excitement to their anniversary celebration when they wound up in the horrific accident.
They said that although they were very scared, they were very grateful for the timely rescue and care of the personnel and other tourists working on the scene.
Afterwards, the local Market Supervision Bureau ordered the amusement park to stop operation while the equipment gets inspected.
They were instructed to ensure that all hidden faults are checked before normal operation can be resumed.
The bureau is also inspecting other scenic spots and recreational facilities in the area to make sure they are all operating safely.
