This is the shocking moment a monkey is seen clinging onto the back of a lorry which is driving through a city.

The footage was shot by the driver in another vehicle in Taiyuan which is the capital and the largest city of Shanxi Province in China.

The driver of the vehicle travelling behind, who spotted and filmed the monkey, said they thought that it must have climbed there accidentally shortly before the vehicle started moving.

But they said that they then realised that speakers on the lorry were being used to promote a show involving the monkeys, and on closer inspection, they noticed the monkey was not tied to the ladder but was unable to climb down or move from the spot where it was fixed.

Many among the commentators said that it seemed extremely dangerous for the monkey especially if it were to slip with a bump in the road and might end up being hurt even though apparently tied to the vehicle.

Online commentators slammed the stunt although it was not revealed what the attraction was that was apparently using the primate to promote the attraction.

Commentator “Sun City” said: “Little monkey is clearly terrified, I am sure this is not legal.”
