This is the moment when a little boy climbed into a fish tank in a supermarket that sold live fish in order to splash around in the water.
According to the video shooter named Mr You, the incident happened in a supermarket in Putian City, in the southeastern Chinese province of Fujian, on Tuesday, 30th May.
Footage shows the youngster standing in the middle of the glass aquarium while the wall of the tank next to him only reaches to his thigh, making it dangerous if he were to slip on the glass bottom and topple onto the floor.
The pond is seemingly nearly a metre off the ground and there are no adults around watching him.
Mr You told local news media that the incident happened when he was shopping for groceries, and he noticed the small kid playing in the tank.
He waited for a while before seeing the child’s family members coming to take him.
Mr You said: “When I passed by, he was already playing in the fish tank.”
He added: “It was his grandma who eventually picked him up.
“The glass, the fish and the oxygen generator inside were all very dangerous.”
He also claimed that the boy climbed into the fish tank by himself.
The footage was posted on Douyin, The Chinese version of TikTok, where users’ comments showed most were shocked about the incident.
A user ‘Li Jingwen’ commented: “I just want to know how he got up there?”
While another user ‘Yu Han’ commented: “The fish pond in the supermarket has electricity.”
And ‘Yuan Yuan’ commented: “Fish are speechless.”
