Netizens have been left in awe after a video showing a man styling his hair with a lighter in China emerged on social media platforms.
The man, whose identity was not disclosed, can be seen standing in front of a mirror in a public restroom and burning the back of his hair last weekend.
He then pats it down to style it, with media suspecting he applied the technique so that he could avoid going to the hairdresser’s and getting a traditional hairdo in order to save money.
The footage which fetched nearly 1.8 million views on TikTok was recorded in the city of Nanchang, in China’s Jiangxi province on Sunday, 3rd December.
Astonished TikTok users could not restrain from expressing their opinion in the video’s comment section.
TikTok user ‘Glassy sky’ said: “I feel like he’s having a hard time without being able to laugh.”
User ‘Luckyovoy’ commented: “But the old man’s clothes seem to have big holes in them and a lot of dust.
“He used electrical tape to wrap his hands. Most likely, he burned them with a lighter because he didn’t want to spend money to get a haircut.”
And ‘Xixi Xixi’ added: “It’s not that you can’t afford to go to a barber shop, but it’s more cost-effective to get a lighter perm.”
