This is the dramatic moment an out-of-control BMW crashes into a busy restaurant and nearly mows down a female employee.

CCTV cameras captured the moment the black SUV smashed through the entrance of the seafood restaurant in Hengyang, in China’s central Henan Province, shortly before noon on 26th November.

Just then, a woman happened to be passing by the front desk and nearly got hit when the BMW crashed through the wall, struck what appears to be a large Buddha statue and slammed into the lobby.

Shocked diners and passersby who witnessed the incident later gathered at the scene apparently making sure everyone was okay.

A waiter at the restaurant, who was not named, said that a colleague was knocked over by a cabinet the vehicle hit but was thankfully unharmed.

Restaurant staff said that the extent of the restaurant’s business losses is still unclear.

A staff member said: “Fortunately, no restaurant staff or customers were seriously injured.”

The restaurant said it resumed normal operation in the afternoon of the incident day, and the authorities were informed promptly.

Local authorities said that the out-of-control vehicle damaged roadside public facilities, the restaurant’s entrance, and the restaurant’s front desk.

It is unclear what caused the accident, although initial reports suggest the BMW’s brakes might have failed.

Local police are currently investigating.
