This dramatic footage shows a woman’s car rolling forwards into an underground car park where it crashed into a Porsche worth at least GBP 70,000 after she forgot to pull the emergency brake when she stepped outside.
CCTV cameras filmed the costly mishap at the parking entrance in Fuzhou, in China’s south-eastern Fujian Province, on the morning of 1st November.
In the footage, the woman is seen trying to enter an underground garage with her white Honda vehicle.
However, as she turned onto the entrance, she drove too close to a nearby gate and her right rear-view mirror got stuck.
She then reversed the car slightly in an attempt to free the mirror and stepped outside to check for any damages.
But as she exited the sedan and walked around the back to the right side of the vehicle, she apparently forgot she had not pulled her handbrake.
Moments later, the vehicle began moving on its own and accelerated downwards, straight into the garage.
She tried to stop the car and ran after it but tumbled down as it went out of control, and later crashed into a grey Porsche Cayenne inside the car park.
Another clip, shared on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, shows the extensive damage caused to both vehicles that reportedly crashed head-on, with a number of people apparently trying to figure out how the accident happened.
Many Douyin users poked fun at the woman’s driving skills, with one user titled ‘Chengcheng’ commenting: “It just had to crash into an expensive one.”
Others, however, were more open about criticising her.
User ‘Mountain’ wrote: “How did she get her driver’s license?”
And user ‘half cigarette butt’ said: “This kind of person should not drive. If she drives, she will be a road hazard and ultimately harm others and herself!”
