This is the shocking moment a motorist narrowly avoids crashing into an out-of-control lorry that suddenly stopped and performed a U-turn in the middle of traffic.
The incident reportedly took place on the Shenhai Expressway in Shanghai, in east-central China.
Video footage shows the moment a blue lorry travelling in the right-most lane suddenly veers into the middle lane.
The lorry then shockingly makes a complete U-turn on the busy highway, right in front of a black minivan.
The driver of the black vehicle spots the imminent danger and immediately slams the brakes as the lorry stops just inches away to face it.
According to eyewitnesses, the lorry lost control after the driver attempted to make an abrupt turn left.
The clip – shared later on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok – attracted widespread attention, gaining over 10,000 likes and over 14,000 shares.
Some netizens took the opportunity to make fun of the situation, with one user titled ‘Jeanne Masto’ commenting: “Black Car: So, what’s our relationship now?”
Another user titled ‘a real man’ wrote: “Lorry: Was that you honking just now?”
And user ‘earn it’ commented: “Blue Vehicle: Watch closely, I’m going to perform the kiss of death for you.”
