A graduate has raised eyebrows after instead of a bunch of flowers, she was given a whole roasted duck to mark her graduation ceremony.

Traditionally, bouquets of flowers are given to students after the hard work of the university results in graduation.

But there are always some proud families who are particularly creative, as was the case of this young woman who graduated from Guangdong Technology College in Guangdong, China.

It appears that the clip was taken while some of the students were trying to take a class photo, and as the camera panned around there was the young female student with two bouquets, one of them the traditional fresh flowers, but the other a carefully wrapped up roasted duck.

She seemed quite pleased with the alternative gift, and was even seen giving a peck on its head.

Online commentators like ‘Andy Lo’ said: “Getting a roast duck is much better than getting flowers! I can eat a duck, but I can’t eat flowers.”

And user ‘Poor Seng Kang’ said: “The roast duck was a thoughtful gift.”

While the user ‘Tarkhnas’ said: “How could she resist taking a bite?”
