This is the moment an angry elephant smashes down a metal gate and goes on the rampage after a homeowner’s yapping dogs sent it into a fury.
CCTV footage of the wild tusker’s tantrum shows it walking peacefully by the huge gates at the home in Yunnan province, south-western China, on 7th June.
But as two dogs bark furiously from the safety of the garden the elephant turns and smashes through the gate with its head, almost knocking it off its hinges.
The dogs – now not so bold – flee to the house as the trunk-waving elephant trots after them before the footage cuts out.
Local media reported that the elephant eventually left quietly after a feed on the garden’s lush shrubs and flowers.
The video was later posted on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, where users quickly blamed the dogs for starting the trouble.
One user ‘Week’ commented: “The last time an elephant came into my house, my dog ran faster than anyone else and didn’t dare to make a sound.”
While ‘Xiao Zhou’ commented: “The dog: I can’t fight, but I can make trouble.”
And ‘Pickled Fish’ commented: “It’s all the dog’s fault.”
