This is the shocking moment a three-storey riverside house collapses during a flood in China.

The video was shared by a local showing the river swollen to a raging torrent as it tears through a village in Baolong Town, Wushan County, in China’s Chongqing City on 4th July.

The video shows the river washing away the foundations around the three-story riverside house that then collapses and is swept away in an instant under the impact of the flood.

A staff member of the Baolong Town government said that there were no casualties because when it was noted that the river waters were rising, local people were organized to evacuate early in the morning.

The local council workers were on the scene to try and shore up defences to stop the floodwaters from spreading.

The heavy rains caused the water level of the Baolong River in the town to rise rapidly, and other houses were also damaged, according to local media.

Landslides also occurred in some mountains along both sides of the river. however, in the other instances, there were also no casualties reported because the local council had issued a rainstorm warning and implemented an emergency plan.
