These images show the moment an Indian college building collapses and is washed away by monsoon floodwaters.

The building can be seen located near a fast-flowing river, with it then suddenly partially collapsing into it.

The incident took place at the Dehradun Defence College in Maldevta, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, today, Monday, 14th August.

The authorities had issued a red alert stating that heavy rain was expected in the area and after 24 hours of heavy rainfall, the building collapsed.

Local media said that the building was eventually washed away by River Bandal.

No one was injured in the incident, although 60 have been reported dead in the state so far, with a further 17 people missing.
