A mother sparked online outrage after she was filmed playing computer games at an Internet cafe ignoring her baby as it sat in a stroller next to her.
The shocking scene was captured by another visitor to the cafe in Guangdong Province, south-east China, whose identity was not revealed, but who claimed the place stunk of cigarettes.
The person said they were appalled to see such a small baby in a place like that.
In the video, the unknown mum was seen sunk in her chair with a pair of headphones on and completely invested in the game she was playing.
Meanwhile, her infant, reportedly only a few months old, remained in its stroller.
It is understood that the new mum has gone to the Internet cafe several times before.
Each time, the woman would find a seat, light a cigarette, and then focus on playing her game.
Online commentators strongly criticised the incident, with user ‘Lin Yu’ saying: “I was really angry watching this.”
And user ‘LIPAN’ said: “The baby is so well behaved, playing by itself in the car without making any noise. It’s a pity that it was born into the wrong family.”
While the user ‘Esther’ said: “This mother is so hateful.”
