This is the moment a woman fights off a knife-wielding thief as he tries to rob her home in the middle of the night.
The victim – described as elderly in local media – was attacked when she investigated a noise outside her home in Vemulawada, a town in Rajanna Sircilla district, in the Indian state of Telangana
CCTV footage caught the thief as he grabbed the woman in front of the house at 4am on Sunday, 13th August.
But instead of giving in, she can be seen fighting back furiously wrapping the crook in a bug curtain outside her front door and battering him with the curtain rod.
The pair grapple and the thief eventually flees, reportedly with a gold chain he had snatched from her neck.
The CCTV footage ends with the thief fleeing out of shot and the woman appearing unharmed.
The police named the woman as P Srilatha.
Her husband was working away in the Gulf states and both of her daughters were also away from home during the robbery.
The police are investigating the incident. At the time of writing, no arrests had been reported.
