An out-of-control car turned this hotpot restaurant into a drive-in after smashing through the front and ploughing into diners.

Fortunately, only two people were slightly injured following the crash on Xihua Road, in Shunqing District of Nanchong City, which is located in China’s Sichuan Province on the afternoon of 2nd July.

CCTV footage shows there are two tables of customers sitting inside the main part of the restaurant in front of a glass façade facing the street.

One table of customers have already started eating, and the other table has customers sitting and preparing to eat while a waiter is serving food.

Suddenly, the out-of-control black car smashes through the glass façade from outside the restaurant and sends tables and customers flying, and scattering food across the floor.

The driver -named Du Mou – said he had been negotiating an intersection when he lost control and smashed into the restaurant after using the wrong pedals.

Two people eating in the restaurant were injured, but none of them were life-threatening.

After the accident, started they had managed to clean up inside and continue to serve customers, despite the fact that the façade had been destroyed.

The driver tested negative for drugs and alcohol.

It is currently unknown if he faces any charges.
