A social media viral video shows a father valiantly defending his one-year-old child from a dog attack in a supermarket in Zhaokua, in the Chinese province of Hunan.
The incident happened during lunchtime, with online commentators praising the brave father’s rapid response to save his child from danger.
It looks as if the supermarket is a family affair and the father and son are sleeping on the cool floor when the dog appears to be panting from the heat walks inside and then spots the child on the floor.
It comes running over but when the dad puts his hand between the dog and the child, the dog appears to bite him causing him to leap up and grab the animal before picking up and throwing it with full force onto the ground.
He then picked it up again and froze it outside and then continues the attack outside the shop.
The worried father then went back to his screaming son, his arm clearly injured, and picked up the kid with great care and ran outside to get aid.
Despite suffering several dog bites on his hands, the heroic father managed to prevent any harm to his child was nevertheless had been left scared by the incident.
The mother later revealed that the dog had bitten her husband multiple times, causing significant blood loss.
Following the incident, the father was taken to the emergency room and received vaccination shots.
According to local media, the dog for unknown reasons then attacked several other passers-by, and the owner of the dog has not been identified. It was not revealed either whether it was captured.
