This is the shocking moment captured on CCTV when an allegedly raped 15-year-old girl hits the ground after being pushed from a school building with staff then telling her father she had fallen off a swing.
Incredibly, despite her ordeal, she initially survived long enough to tell her father that she had been gang-raped, allegedly by a manager of her school and a sports teacher, before being fatally pushed off the school building.
The incident took place in Ayodhya, a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, on Friday, 26th May.
The footage reportedly shows the student hitting the ground after being thrown to her death by her rapists.
She was reportedly fatally injured and taken to hospital before passing away after being transferred to a different facility.
But her distraught father said that she told him what happened before dying. He said: “My crying daughter told me that when she reached the school, the principal handed her over to the two men, one of them was the sports teacher. They then gang-raped her. And in order to hide the crime, they threw her off the terrace.”
The school’s management initially told the police that the student, who has not been named, had died after falling off a swing, according to local media.
But when police looked at the CCTV footage at the school following a complaint filed by her father, they saw that the girl had in fact died after falling from the school.
A post-mortem was conducted on the student’s body on Saturday, before her father performed the last rites in the presence of police, and the girl’s body was cremated.
Investigators reportedly determined that the school’s officials had misled their investigation.
The suspects have been named as school manager Brijesh Yadav, principal Rashmi Bhatia and sports teacher Abhishek Kannaujia.
The victim’s father, who has not been named, said that his daughter had been called to the school by the principal despite it being closed for the summer holidays, saying: “After she reached the school, manager of the school Brijesh Yadav and sports teacher Abhishek Kannaujia gang-raped her and to hide the crime, they threw her from the terrace of the school.”
He also reportedly said: “I was informed by the principal around 9:50 am that my child suffered injuries after falling from a swing.
“When I reached the school, I was told that my child was taken to a hospital. She had injury marks all over her body, which is not possible in case of a fall from a swing.”
The police found that the school administration had misled their investigation, according to local media, with Ayodhya Police Superintendent Madhuban Singh saying: “On Saturday afternoon, on the complaint of the family of the girl student, a case was registered against the school principal, school manager and a sports teacher for gangraping the minor girl, murdering her, erasing the evidence and hatching criminal conspiracy […].”
Singh said that an initial post-mortem report was “unreadable” and that they were waiting for another one.
The three suspects have reportedly been arrested.
The police investigation for gang rape, murder, and withholding evidence of a crime, as well as criminal conspiracy, among other charges, is ongoing.
