A ruthless driver was caught on video as he deliberately ran over a security guard who had confronted him for blocking the road with his parked vehicle.

The two reportedly got into an argument when the guard demanded the driver, surnamed Gao, move his car in Taiyuan, in China’s northern Shanxi Province.

But Gao refused to comply and pressed on the gas pedal, knocking down the guard who was standing right in front of his white Ford SUV and slamming into another vehicle parked nearby.

Two other security personnel screamed when their colleague disappeared under the SUV, as this dramatic footage shows.

Gao then stepped out of his car, seemingly not caring that he had nearly killed someone, took a brief look around and calmly returned to his vehicle.

He then reversed the SUV with its front licence plate hanging and parked a bit further back while concerned bystanders gathered around the guard who was lying motionless on the ground.

Staff from the security company later told local media: “His parking position blocked the intersection, and our staff went over to advise.

“He was stubborn and refused to move, and his attitude was very aggressive.”

The security guard sustained injuries to his legs and abdomen but fortunately did not suffer head injuries.

Local police said that Gao has since been arrested.
