This is the moment a man saves a woman from drowning by lassoing a lifeline around her and then pulling her in from the rushing water.
The incredible rescue was captured by a river embankment in Hechi, in southern China’s Guangxi Region.
In the video – shared on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok – the helpless woman is seen desperately seeking for help as she is pinned in place by the powerful current.
One man standing on top of the dam tries handing her a large fishing pole that she manages to swim to and grab hold of.
As she comes up for much-needed air while clinging pole, another young man, seen standing on the shore, prepares to throw her an orange float attached to a rope.
With one swift move, the lad manages to lasso her with the lifeline that lands around her neck.

The scene was witnessed by his unnamed cousin, who later told local media that the woman had swallowed a lot of water but was unharmed.
She added that the young man rushed over to help after spotting the emergency while resting outside his home.
She also claimed the woman did not even say a word of thanks but simply just drove away and went home afterwards.
Netizens later hailed him a hero for saving a life with one simple throw.
One Douyin user titled ‘resignation’ said in a comment: “Thumbs up to this young man who saved the woman. The ungrateful person is like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, destined to have a short journey in life.”
And a user ‘mushroom’ wrote: “If only I were the person in the river! I would marry him and have a many children with him, so he would know that good people don’t go unrewarded!”
