This is the moment a group of wild monkeys pull the trousers down of a driver who had climbed from his car to watch them.

The incident happened at the Liudaowan viewing platform near Xuancheng, in Anhui province, eastern China, on 14th March.

 

According to reports, tourists on a self-driving trip stopped their vehicles after spotting a group of wild monkeys near the roadside viewpoint.

Footage shows one elderly man attempting to run away as several monkeys surround him.

The animals grab at his clothing and tug at his trousers, nearly pulling them down as he tries to escape.

The person filming the video, identified as Mr Liu. Said the monkeys were aggressive and that the man was unable to avoid them even while running.

He said: “I couldn’t dodge them even when I was running away.”

According to Mr Liu, the elderly man’s trousers were pulled down during the encounter. But neither he nor any of the other tourists were injured.

Mr Liu said he and a child can be seen holding sticks and trying to scare the monkeys away and keep them at a distance.

The Liudaowan scenic viewpoint area near Xuancheng is known to have a large number of wild monkeys.

Reports said there have previously been incidents in the area in which monkeys grabbed and tore tourists’ clothing.
